- The media learned about the possible absence of Modi at the G7 summit due to relations with Canada

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to miss the G7 summit for the first time in six years due to the conflict with Canada. This was reported on June 2 by India Today TV channel.
"Against the background of tense relations between Ottawa and New Delhi, Prime Minister Modi is unlikely to visit Canada at the upcoming summit," the media writes.
As specified by "Gazeta.En", the Indian authorities have not yet received an invitation from Canada and are generally not inclined to participate in the summit.
The G7 summit will be held from June 15 to June 17 in Canada. India is not officially a member of the G7, and New Delhi has been invited as a guest in recent years.
In 2023, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said that India may have been linked to the murder of Sikh community leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar, who was shot dead on June 18 outside a Sikh cultural center in Surrey, British Columbia.
After that, the Indian Foreign Ministry issued a statement rejecting Trudeau's words. India has announced the expulsion of a senior Canadian diplomat in response to similar actions by the North American state.
