The expert named unfavorable periods for vacations

If you plan a holiday for a holiday week, the employer is obliged to extend it by the number of official holidays, but this option turns out to be the least profitable from a financial point of view. Ekaterina Kosareva, managing partner of the analytical agency VMT Consult, told Izvestia about this on June 2.

As the expert explained, the next short working week is expected in November 2025. In general, taking vacations in the months with official holidays is economically impractical due to the peculiarities of calculating vacation pay.

They have already booked 70% more flights than a year earlier.

"The fewer working days in a month, the higher the cost of each day of salary. Accordingly, compensation in the form of vacation pay will not cover the income that the employee would have received while staying at work," Kosareva said.

At the same time, the specialist emphasized that if we consider the benefits not from a financial point of view, but from a personal point of view, then joining a vacation to an official weekend allows you to organize a longer vacation or a long trip. This is especially true in the summer, when many people strive to make the most of the warm weather for travel.

Elena Kosheleva, Director of Sberbank Insurance projects, told Izvestia on May 7 that it was important to prepare carefully before traveling to exotic countries in order to avoid health and document problems. The specialist explained that dangerous infections such as malaria, Dengue fever and Zika virus are common in some regions.
