Nutritionist and endocrinologist Anton Polyakov told how kvass and kefir can be replaced when making okroshka.

In conversation with aif.ru On Monday, June 2, the expert noted that balanced alternatives without sugar and milk, preserving the taste of traditional okroshka, are difficult to find, therefore it is better to choose traditional options for this soup, for example, homemade kvass without sugar.

According to the nutritionist, this is a safer alternative when compared with drinks from the store: they often contain sugar and standardized ingredients.

On May 30, nutritionist Mariyat Mukhina, in an interview with the National Health Service, warned that okroshka is quite a difficult dish to digest.

"Her daily allowance is taken at the rate of 150 g of meat, 200 g of all these ingredients — potatoes, radishes, cucumbers and greens — and all this is diluted with 150-200 g of kefir, tana or kvass," the nutritionist explained.

On the same day, gastroenterologist Ekaterina Kashukh, in an interview with RT, explained how to make okroshka healthy and safe for health. Kefir, enriched with probiotics, will help improve intestinal microflora and smooth digestion. At the same time, nutritionist Nuria Dianova said that one of the best options for dressing okroshka is white kvass, which tastes sour and not too sweet, RIAMO notes.

On May 29, Roskachestvo gave advice on choosing products for okroshka. In particular, experts recommend choosing a doctor's sausage that complies with GOST 23670-2019 for cooking sausage dishes. It should contain only pork, beef, water, eggs, milk, salt, sugar and spices.
