The doctor named the most common diseases in the summer

The most common diseases in summer are intestinal infections. Pavel Vorobyov, a general practitioner, told Izvestia about this on June 2.
"Summer is always a problem of intestinal infections, because dirty hands, dirty water. The contents of latrines get into the water, onto the hands, respectively, there may be any intestinal infections. <...> And the second, very widespread, is viral infections from the water. When children start swimming, rotaviruses swarm everywhere," he explained.
The doctor noted that infections carried by insects and rodents are also common in summer, such as tick—borne borreliosis (Lyme disease) or hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome, which is often carried by mice and rats.
Common viral respiratory infections can also be picked up in the summer, Vorobyov added. According to him, air conditioners and humidifiers are dangerous: there may be infections in uncleaned tanks, but ice cream and cold drinks are not harmful.
"On the contrary, you should eat a lot of ice cream, ice cream, melted ice cream. <...> These are the general world recommendations to avoid sore throats," the therapist emphasized.
The summer flu is no different from the winter flu, but the disease is less common in the warmer months, he concluded.
On May 29, survival expert Eduard Khalilov spoke about the safety rules when staying near the water. He stressed that the main thing is not to abuse alcohol. According to the expert, you need to swim only in specially prepared places and be careful in the sun to avoid heat stroke.
