The election of the head of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) in Qatar was accompanied by manipulation by the West, which undermines international sports. This was announced on June 2 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

"The election of the head of the Table Tennis Federation, which took place in Qatar, highlighted the putrid ideology of Westerners to promote, as they believe, their functionaries in sports, and in fact, the destruction of international sports from this side," Zakharova said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

According to her, the representative of Sweden, Petra Serling, was returned to her post in an undemocratic way after losing the election of the head of the organization.

According to the results of the Doha vote, Qatar's representative Khalil Al-Mohannadi won by a margin of 11 votes, after which Serling received an additional 17 votes online, adds "Газета.Ru ".

On March 25, the International Association of Athletics Federations (World Athletics) upheld the decision to suspend Russian and Belarusian athletes from competitions. According to the head of the association, athletes from Russia and Belarus remain in the international testing pool.
