On May 29, the Daily Star newspaper reported that volcanic activity experts are concerned about the increase in seismic activity in the area of the Campi Flegrei supervolcano, as its eruption "would plunge the planet into chaos." It is specified that over the past six months, more than 3 thousand earthquakes have been registered in this region, and in May 2025, a 4.4 magnitude tremor occurred — the most powerful in the last 40 years.
