Maria Lvova-Belova, Commissioner for Children's Rights under the President of the Russian Federation, informed Russian Leader Vladimir Putin about the completion of inspections of the social orphanhood prevention system in all regions of the country. This was announced on June 2 by the Kremlin's press service.

"Actually, 89 regions have been traveled, visited, worked out, I have been to every subject of the Russian Federation. That is, we understand how it all works now," Lvova-Belova said during a working meeting with the President of the Russian Federation.

According to her, one of the tasks of the inspection was to change consciousness to a "family-saving approach." During the ten months of operation, the simultaneous presence of children in orphanages and shelters decreased by 10.2%, the Ombudsman emphasized.

Putin, in turn, noted the effectiveness of the work carried out and supported Lvova-Belova's proposal to create an All-Russian family assistance service.

In February, the Presidential Commissioner for Children's Rights reported that the number of children in Russian social institutions had decreased from 60,000 to 53,000 since June 2024. According to Lvova-Belova, such indicators were achieved during the All-Russian inspection of the system of prevention of social orphanhood (VISP), which took place since June last year.
