A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. You can track the progress of the joint forces of Russia, the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics (DPR and LPR), as well as view the map of military operations on June 2 in the Izvestia material.

It is noted that units of the Zapad group of forces occupied more advantageous lines and positions, units of the Southern Group of Forces improved their position along the front edge, and units of the Center group of forces defeated formations of the heavy mechanized, three mechanized, assault, amphibious assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, two air defense brigades and two National Guard brigades.

In addition, air defense systems shot down two UK-made Storm Shadow cruise missiles, four US-made JDAM guided aerial bombs, as well as 316 aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles, including 205 outside the area of a special military operation.

"Tactical aviation, strike unmanned aerial vehicles, missile forces and artillery of groups of troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation defeated workshops for the production of strike unmanned aerial vehicles, their launch and storage sites, ammunition depots, as well as temporary deployment points of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and foreign mercenaries in 152 districts," the Defense Ministry added.

Since the beginning of the special military operation, 663 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 61,008 unmanned aerial vehicles, 609 anti-aircraft missile systems, 23,705 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,565 multiple rocket launchers, 25,577 field artillery guns and mortars, 36,350 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed.
