More than 10 aircraft were involved in monitoring forests in Transbaikalia

In Transbaikalia, 12 aircraft are monitoring the situation in the forests. Surveillance, in particular, is conducted from Mi-2 and Eurocopter helicopters, An-2 and Cessna aircraft. Three Mi-8 helicopters are involved in extinguishing the fires.

According to Sergey Kazakov, deputy head of the Chita Airbase for flight service, quoted by ChitaMedia news agency, helicopters are used to transfer employees of the aviation and fire service, deliver food to the affected areas and deliver firefighters.

Earlier it was reported that in Transbaikalia, 13 fires were localized in a day, the area of which is almost 30 thousand hectares. 41 more fires continue to operate. Forests are burning in 15 districts of the region. These are the data from the regional Ministry of Natural Resources.
