Fires on an area of 30 thousand hectares per day localized in Transbaikalia


In Transbaikalia, it was possible to localize 13 fires in a day, the area of which is almost 30 thousand hectares. 41 more fires continue to operate. Forests are burning in 15 districts of the region. These are the data from the regional Ministry of Natural Resources.
Fires were localized in Chita, Nerchinsk, Ner-Zavodsky, Alek-Zavodsky, Gaz-Zavodsky, Krasnochikoysky, Uletovsky, Tungiro-Olekminsky, Tungokochensky and Khilok districts. Fires were extinguished in Chita, Karymsky, Shilkinsky, Krasnochikoysky and Chernyshevsky districts during the day. The fire destroyed about 15 thousand hectares, according to the ChitaMedia news agency.
Earlier, on May 27, it was reported that firefighters in Transbaikalia were protecting four more settlements from fire. The villages of Novotroitsk, Domna, Doroninskoye and the village of Bukachacha were under threat.
Prior to this, it was clarified that an emergency fire hazard class is predicted in nine districts of the Trans-Baikal Territory. Forecasters warned of increased winds, which would increase the risk of fire spreading over large areas. In connection with the incident, the Ministry of Emergency Situations called on residents and guests of the region to observe fire safety measures.
