- About 6 tons of salmon were caught on Putin's first day in the Ust-Kamchatsky district

Since June 1, salmon fishing has been allowed in the Kamchatka Territory only on two sections of the Kamchatka River. The restrictions began to apply in 2024. Two fishing enterprises are engaged in fishing — Ustkamchatryba LLC and Delta Fish LTD.
According to the news agency KamchatkaMedia with reference to the press service of the Ust-Kamchatsky district, on the first day of Putin this year, 6 tons of valuable fish were caught in Ust-Kamchatsk — about 5 tons of sockeye salmon and about 1 ton of chinook.
The agency writes that the volume of the first days of production should show how intense the approaches of salmon are. It also depends on when the main fishing in the Kamchatka Gulf will begin. Approximately, this will be announced from June 4 to June 8.
At the end of May, it was reported that coho salmon farming was underway at the Paratunsky Experimental Salmon Hatchery in Kamchatka. It is planned that the valuable fish will be released in the second decade of July this year. In Bolshoy Vilyui Lake, juveniles will be found when they reach the required weight in 3 g. This year, the state task for growing coho salmon has not been approved, so it will be released as part of commercial aquaculture. The peninsula's rivers will be replenished with another 1.5 million fish, which are very important for the restoration of the region's aquatic bioresources.
