The expert spoke about the dangers of limiting yourself in food


For proper weight loss, you need to use the "everything is possible" strategy. It is necessary to build a balanced diet that includes certain foods from the prohibited list. Maria Sokolova, an expert, coach, and ambassador of Grow Food, told Izvestia on June 3 about the threat of food restrictions.
"The human psyche doesn't like restrictions very much. From the point of view of the psychology of eating behavior, it is advisable not to divide products into bad and good, that is, everything is possible, there is just a list of products with high nutritional value: whole, high—quality products, and there are products that are subject to very extensive processing," she explained.
So, foods that have low nutritional value and that do not bring much benefit to the body are fast food, sweets, deep—fried, and so on. The expert explained that such products also need to be included in the diet, but in small quantities.
When a person goes on a conditional diet, which has everything, but at the same time 70% of the diet is high—quality, cool products with a good composition, the weight loss process is going well and at the same time the person remains in the zone of psychological comfort, because he does not experience restrictions.
"When a person holds himself in check, does not eat a long list of foods, it's like a spring that is under a lot of pressure. And the more we squeeze it, the more we limit ourselves, the more the spring will backfire," Sokolova said.
She added: if you put yourself in a box, forbid something, refuse, and so on, sooner or later there will be a rollback, so it's better to avoid any harsh restrictions and prohibitions.
Earlier, on May 31, souchef, nutritionist at Grow Food, Karina Gazetdinova, told Izvestia about the dangers of dieting. According to her, the first thing that diets are harmful for is their short—term effect and slowing of metabolism. When a person drastically reduces the caloric intake of food, the body begins to save and the metabolism slows down.
