The Western Interregional Investigative Department for Transport (MCT) of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation has opened a criminal case after the death of a minor as a result of an electric shock on the Moscow Railway (MZhD). This was announced on June 2 by the press service of the department.
It is specified that the incident occurred on June 1 at the Kuskovo railway station in the Gorky direction. A teenager born in 2010, while on the roof of an electric train car that was moving towards the settlements of Zakharovo – Aprelevka, received an electric shock due to his dangerous hobby of hooking.
"The victim died from his injuries at the scene," the agency wrote on its Telegram channel.
The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of the rules of safety of movement and operation of railway transport, which negligently caused the death of a person"), as well as under Article 151.2 of the Criminal Code ("Involvement of a minor in acts endangering the life of a minor").
On May 28, the press service of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation reported that in the Moscow region, a teenager was injured by electric shock in the Yaroslavl direction of the Moscow Railway, an inspection is underway.
The ministry clarified that on the evening of May 27, at the Buzhaninovo railway station, a minor born in 2012 was electrocuted due to a dangerous hobby of hooking up while moving on the protruding parts of an electric train. The victim was hospitalized with various injuries.
