Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk may announce a vote of confidence in his government after the victory of right-wing candidate Karol Nawrocki in the presidential election. This is reported on June 2 Onet.pl .
Unnamed sources in Poland's pro-European ruling Civil coalition told the resource that Tusk may make a statement.
"A scenario has been circulating in government circles for many days, according to which, in the event of Karol Nawrocki's victory, the head of government will immediately submit a request for confidence in his government in order to put an end to the discussion about possible early parliamentary elections," the article says.
According to the newspaper, a reshuffle in Tusk's cabinet is "almost inevitable."
On June 2, the State Election Commission confirmed the victory of opposition candidate Karol Nawrocki in the second round of the Polish presidential election. It is specified that Karol Nawrocki won 50.89% of the vote, while his rival, the mayor of Warsaw and candidate from the ruling Civic coalition Rafal Trzaskowski, won 49.11% of the vote.
Prior to that, on May 18, voting took place in the first round of the country's presidential election.
