FC Zenit has extended the contract with Arshavin

Zenit Football Club (FC) has extended the contract with Andrey Arshavin, who holds the position of Deputy chairman of the Board for sports development of the St. Petersburg team. This was announced on June 2 by Alexander Medvedev, Chairman of the Zenit Management Board.

"Naturally," he said, answering a question about the extension of the contract, in an interview with the publication "Sport-Express".

Arshavin played for Zenit in 1999-2008 and 2013-2015. He later ended his sports career and took over as deputy chairman of the board in January 2022.

"We didn't lose the championship, but Krasnodar won it."

Zenit's press service announced on May 29 that the St. Petersburg club would retain the leadership and coaching staff of the team following a meeting of the board of directors. It is noted that FC's goal for the next, 100th season is to win the championship in the Russian Premier League (RPL).
