The magnetic storm on Earth will last at least until June 3, and its strength will vary. This was announced on June 2 by a representative of the Institute of Applied Geophysics.

"Geomagnetic storms are mainly G1–G2, with G3–G4 periods expected before the end of June 2 due to the continuing effects of coronal mass ejections," he told the TASS news agency.

The scientist noted that on June 3, it is possible to reduce the level of the magnetic storm to G1.

As specified in the material, scientists correlate the characteristics of magnetic storms with a scale of five indicators, according to which G1 is "weak" and G5 is "extremely strong."

On June 1, Sergey Bogachev, head of the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy at the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), said that a cloud of plasma ejected by the Sun during the flare reached the Earth. According to Bogachev, currently the speed of the solar wind sometimes exceeds 1 thousand km/s.
