- The media learned about Navrotsky's position against Ukraine's entry into Western alliances

Polish President-elect Karol Nawrocki promised to keep helping Ukraine, but opposed its membership in Western alliances. This was reported on June 2 by the Reuters news agency.
"Navrotsky supports the provision of military assistance to Ukraine. <...>. However, he stated that <...> will oppose Ukraine's membership in Western alliances," the article says.
According to Reuters, Navrotsky's position correlates with a drop in support for Ukrainians among Poles, who previously accepted millions of Ukrainian refugees. Navrotsky, in turn, refers to his election slogan "Poland first," the article notes.
On June 2, the state Election Commission approved the victory of Karol Nawrocki, a candidate from the opposition Law and Justice party, in the second round of the Polish presidential election.
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said on April 4 that no one had promised Ukraine to join NATO immediately after the end of the conflict. He noted that the alliance had previously only promised Kiev an irreversible path to membership in the organization.
