Russians have become more likely to pay for domestic mobile games

Russian mobile games are the leaders in terms of the number of payments, ahead of their foreign counterparts. In RuStore, the average check for domestic games in April 2025 was 750 rubles, which is 200 rubles more than foreign games. Ilya Ulyanov, Director of Development at RuStore, told Izvestia about this on June 2 at CIPR.
"The audience has become more active in supporting developers: the number of transactions in our app store has almost doubled since last year, with 60% of payments coming from Russian content," Ulyanov said.
According to him, this growth is due to the improvement of the quality of games, the growing variety of in-game content and the development of convenient payment methods.
At the same time, there is a growing interest in independent Russian projects. In the first quarter of 2025, the revenues of Russian indie developers at RuStore increased 4 times compared to the same period last year.
Earlier, on February 27, it was reported that mostly young people (18-24 years old) are interested in gaming purchases. Thus, 58% of respondents of this age have paid at least once, according to RuStore data.
