- China accused the United States of violating trade agreements and threatened measures.

China has accused the United States of violating the trade truce between the two powers and promised to take decisive measures to protect its interests amid heightened tensions. This was reported on June 2 by the Financial Times (FT), citing sources.
It is indicated that the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China accused Washington of adopting "a number of discriminatory and restrictive measures" that undermined the Geneva Consensus and harmed "China's legitimate rights and interests."
"If the United States insists on its own and continues to harm China's interests, China will continue to take tough and decisive measures to protect its legitimate rights," the ministry stressed.
In addition, Beijing accused Washington of unilaterally provoking new disagreements.
"Instead of analyzing their actions, they groundlessly accused China of violating the consensus," the Commerce Ministry said.
On May 30, American leader Donald Trump announced a violation by China of the agreement with the United States on the reduction of mutual duties. According to Trump, he made a "quick deal" with China in order "to save it from a very bad situation."
On May 12, the United States and China agreed to suspend the customs tariff for 90 days, while maintaining the 10 percent tariff. It was clarified that after the implementation of the measures discussed between the countries, the parties will continue negotiations on trade and economic relations.
