The ex-head of the organization "War Invalids" was detained on suspicion of fraud


Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia have detained the former head of the All-Russian Public Organization of the disabled of the war in Afghanistan and military Trauma ("War Invalids") on suspicion of fraud. This was announced on June 2 by the official representative of the department Irina Volk.
"The former head of the All-Russian Public Organization of the disabled of the war in Afghanistan and military trauma ("War Invalids") has been detained Andrey Chepurnoy, as well as Valery Belyalov, General Director of the autonomous non-profit organization "Veteran—Rus Center for Medical and Social Rehabilitation of War Veterans," said Volk. Her words are quoted by the official Telegram channel of the department.
The article notes that, according to the investigation, the attackers fraudulently appropriated ownership of 48 real estate objects included in the complex of the center for medical rehabilitation of soldiers-internationalists "Rus".
"As a result, the public organization suffered material damage in the amount of more than 1 billion rubles," Volk added.
At the moment, Chepurnoy and Belyalov are in custody. The investigation of the case is under the control of the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Prosecutor General's Office.
Earlier that day, two people were detained on Sakhalin on suspicion of housing fraud for 15 million rubles. The Interior Ministry clarified that the men found people who met the conditions of the housing improvement program, as well as those who did not know about the possibility of receiving subsidies, and then concluded fictitious contracts with them for the purchase and sale of real estate.
