- Medvedchuk named the reason for the EU's intentions to deprive Hungary of the right to vote

The European Union (EU) intends to deprive Budapest of the right to vote because of the position of the Hungarian authorities on the conflict in Ukraine. This was stated on June 2 by Viktor Medvedchuk, chairman of the Other Ukraine movement, in his author's column on the <url> platform.
He recalled that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and the country's Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto speak out against providing assistance to Kiev, and are also critical of Ukraine's admission to the EU.
"They want to deprive Hungary of the right to vote because of its position on the Ukrainian conflict," Medvedchuk stressed.
Szijjarto said on May 30 that the European Union was being hypocritical. According to the minister, the EU currently supports a ceasefire and peace talks, but continues to work on prolonging the conflict in Ukraine.
