The State Duma is preparing a bill on the return of apartment buildings to Russia

The State Duma is developing a project to return the institute of apartment buildings to Russia. Vladimir Koshelev, first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Construction and Housing, told TASS about this on June 2.
"I am working on a draft law that we plan to discuss with the government in the near future and prove that there should not be only two types of premises in our country — residential and non—residential," he said.
According to Koshelev, such measures will allow professional investors to invest in real estate that a person can "civilly" rent, as well as where understandable criteria for price increases, living rights and the settlement of all landlord and tenant rights will be carried out.
At the same time, the deputy chairman of the State Duma clarified that in pre-revolutionary Russia, 80% of the housing stock in St. Petersburg and 40% of housing in Moscow accounted for apartment buildings. However, in modern times, this segment of real estate has been forgotten.
Earlier, on May 17, Nikolay Kandikudryakov, president of the International Union of Forensic Experts, said that investment real estate can provide a stable income. According to him, when choosing an apartment for subsequent rental, it is necessary to focus on regions with a high tourist flow or active labor migration.
