The area of forest fires in Buryatia increased to 116.5 thousand hectares


In the Republic of Buryatia, the area of forest fires has increased to 116,555 hectares. This was announced on June 2 by the Forestry Agency of Buryatia in its Telegram channel.
"According to operational data, on the morning of June 2, 16 forest fires are active: in Barguzinsky, Bauntovsky, Evenki, Yeravninsky, Kizhinginsky and Selenginsky districts," the report said.
Firefighters eliminated two fires with a total area of 6.3 thousand hectares. 480 people and 81 units of special equipment are working to extinguish fires.
Earlier, on May 27, the area of forest fires in Buryatia reached 115,950 hectares. Gorenje reported on the causes of forest fires, including a dry thunderstorm, peat burning, crossing the Trans-Baikal Territory and careless handling of fire by people.
