The fighters of the Vostok group told the details of the liberation of Novopol in the DPR

The military personnel of the Vostok group of forces told the details of the liberation of the settlement of Novopol in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). This was announced on May 2 by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

"We stopped by in motorcycle groups — everything happened abruptly and very mobile. Everyone in our department is confident with motorcycles, so they broke in quickly, literally with two legs. Everything was done in one go — they worked out clearly and without delay," recalls the unit commander with the call sign Shaman.

During the battles for Novopol, Ukrainian troops held the defense along the Zelyony Pole–Novopol border. However, soon the assault units of the 5th Combined Arms army of the Vostok group of forces were able to conduct offensive operations and liberate the settlement.

"The enemy himself presented no difficulties. He tried to roll back faster, that is, he didn't really engage in a shooting battle with us," said a fighter with the call sign Tatar.

Currently, the Vostok group of forces is continuing its offensive, breaking into enemy defenses and demoralizing its personnel.

The Ministry of Defense showed footage of the liberation of Novopol in the DPR on May 31. During the fighting, the assault units broke through the enemy's defenses with the support of aviation, artillery and drones, and then entered the settlement. The military cleared 140 buildings and established full control over the settlement, hoisting Russian flags.
