Violetta Gorynya, a doctor at the Dom with a Lighthouse children's hospice, died as a result of a bridge collapse in the Bryansk region. This was announced on Sunday, June 1, by the founder of the foundation, Lidia Moniava.

"They were on the train with the whole family — with her husband and two children. The eldest is seven years old, the youngest is five months old. <...>. My husband was riding on the top shelf and was practically unharmed. And Violetta was dead. She was only 32 years old," Moniava wrote on her Telegram channel.

According to the founder of the House with a Lighthouse, Violetta was a pediatrician and palliative care doctor and had been working in a hospice since 2020. Since the girl has a five-month-old baby, she has recently been on maternity leave, said Moniava.

The collapse of a bridge in the Bryansk region on the Klimov – Moscow passenger train occurred on the evening of May 31. The number of injured was 71 people, seven people died.

Semyon Meshcheryakov, chief physician of the Leonid Roshal Clinic in Moscow, said that two children who were injured in the bridge collapse have been fully examined. The five-month-old baby was diagnosed with fractures of the pelvis, cranial vault, hip and bruised lungs. Doctors found a mild traumatic brain injury, a concussion and a fractured humerus in a seven-year-old boy.
