The UK has announced the construction of up to 12 attack submarines.

The UK intends to build up to 12 new nuclear-powered attack submarines. This was announced on June 1 on the website of the government of the country.
"The UK will build up to 12 attack submarines as part of the AUKUS program in response to rapidly growing threats," the statement said.
It is specified that the new vessels will belong to the SSN-AUKUS class.
"With new state—of-the-art submarines patrolling international waters and our own program to deploy nuclear warheads on British shores, we are ensuring Britain's security at home and its strength abroad," said United Kingdom Defense Secretary John Healey.
On June 1, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced the construction of at least six military factories in the UK. The authorities intend to strengthen the fighting forces and begin the "renewal of the country" by creating new jobs throughout the state. Earlier in the day, The Times newspaper learned that Britain was planning to purchase American fighter jets armed with tactical weapons. According to the newspaper, Starmer has already begun negotiations with the Pentagon on this issue.
