Russians will be able to receive CTP payments without taking into account depreciation as early as 2025.

Russians will be able to receive an additional payment for CTP repairs — as a result, the amount will not take into account car wear and tear. The innovation can work as early as the second half of 2025, Anatoly Aksakov, head of the State Duma Committee on the financial market, told Izvestia. According to the deputy, the Ministry of Finance, the Central Bank and the insurance market support this measure.

Policy shift: for regions with careful drivers, they want to reduce the cost of CTP

The Central Bank noted that now such residents are overpaying for risky territories.

It is assumed that both forms of compensation will remain in the law, which are still in force, Izvestia wrote earlier. First, the insurer will be able to send the car for repair to the service station with which it has a contract. Secondly, the company can pay monetary compensation to the victim. This amount will take into account the wear and tear of the car, as it still applies now: that is, the older the car, the less money the customer will receive. The maximum percentage of wear is 50%.

At the same time, in the new version, Russians will also have the right to apply for an additional payment if the first one was not enough for repairs. The victim will be able to go to any car repair shop of his choice, and then send the insurer a confirmation that the restoration of the car cost more than the amount he initially received.

The purpose of this initiative is to improve the procedure for paying compensation for CTP, and the Ministry of Finance welcomes it, the ministry's press service told Izvestia. At the same time, it is necessary to assess how the measure will affect the availability of the policy and the price, they added.

The innovation will significantly increase the efficiency of CTP from the point of view of the car owner, says Irina Frank, CEO of Frank Auto. According to her, there is likely to be a significant increase in payments, especially for car owners over the age of five. Compensation for such machines may increase by 30-40%.
