In Kursk, several houses caught fire after an attack by Ukrainian drones

In Kursk, air defense systems shot down several unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), as a result of the attack, civilian infrastructure was damaged. This was announced on Monday, June 2, by Alexander Khinshtein, Acting Governor of the Kursk region.

"Our air defense system has been activated over Kursk, enemy UAVs have been shot down," he said in a statement on Telegram.

According to the official, private houses and a garage caught fire after the drone debris fell. There are also hits in an apartment building, its glazing is damaged.

Previously, there were no casualties. Information about other consequences is still being clarified, Khinstein added.

Emergency personnel are currently working at the site, the acting governor of the region informed.

On June 1, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the air defense forces had shot down seven JDAM guided aerial bombs launched by the Ukrainian Armed Forces during the day. Air defense systems also destroyed 100 aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles.
