Trump predicted the ruin of the US economy in the event of the abolition of import duties

US President Donald Trump said that if the US court cancels the imposed import duties, the country's economy will face severe consequences. On June 1, Trump wrote about this on the Truth Social network.

"If the courts somehow rule against us on tariffs, which is not expected, it will allow other countries to hold our country hostage with their anti-American tariffs, which they will use against us. This would mean the economic ruin of the United States of America!" the publication says.

Trump will keep the duties imposed regardless of the court's decision.

Earlier, on May 29, the US Court of Appeals reinstated Trump's trade duties. At the same time, the new decree does not contain any specific definitions and "creates new uncertainty about the fate of Trump's tariffs."
