The split of the collective West into American and European sides had an impact on the presidential elections in Poland, which is why the candidates represent different forces of this conflict. This was stated on June 1 by Belarusian political scientist, editor of the Polish service of the Belarus radio station, Peter Petrovsky, in an interview with Izvestia.

The expert pointed out that since 1989, a system with two pro-Western parties has been established in Poland, one of which was oriented towards the United States and the other towards the European Union (EU). However, as a result of the internal split in Western countries, Warsaw Mayor Rafal Trzaskowski and the candidate of the opposition Law and Justice party Karol Nawrocki are now forced to confront each other.

"Now there is no such unity of the West. There is [US President Donald] Trump, there is the EU and the liberal international globalist elite. And in fact, these are the eggs that the Polish elites have laid out in different baskets in the form of [parties] Law and Justice and the Civil Coalition, in the form of candidates Navrotsky and Trzaskowski today, they are opposed today not only at the level of Poland, but also at the level of the collective West, the split of the collective West between Brussels and Washington.", — stated Petrovsky.

At the same time, he stressed that currently there is no such candidate in Poland who would defend the interests of his people. All political forces operating in the country promote the interests of foreign states.

In Poland, on May 18, voting took place in the first round of the country's presidential election. Warsaw Mayor Rafal Trzaskowski, a representative from the ruling Civic Coalition party, and Karol Nawrocki, a candidate from the opposition Law and Justice Party (PiS), reached the second round, which is scheduled for June 1. According to recent polls, Tsaskowski receives the most support. The second candidate is Navrotsky.
