- Medinsky arrived at a hotel in Istanbul before participating in negotiations on Ukraine

Vladimir Medinsky, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation and head of the delegation at the meeting on resolving the crisis in Ukraine, arrived at an Istanbul hotel ahead of the talks scheduled for June 2. The corresponding footage is published by Izvestia on June 1.
Medinsky and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin, who arrived with him, refused to answer the question of whether the Ukrainian delegation had confirmed its participation in the planned talks.
At the same time, the presidential aide stressed that all statements will be announced tomorrow.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on May 28 that Russia was ready to present a memorandum to Ukraine during the second round of negotiations. He expressed the hope that all parties interested in the success of the peace process would provide support for a new round of discussions.
Later, on June 1, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced in his Telegram channel that the Ukrainian delegation to the talks in Istanbul would be headed by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov. On the same day, it became known that the delegation would be expanded from 12 to 14 people.
