The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have acknowledged lagging behind Russia in technology for the creation of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) with optical fiber. This was reported on June 1 by The Telegraph newspaper.

"We have done all the work to convert drones into weapons, but we have not scaled these weapons quickly enough at the industrial level so that they have a significant strategic effect," said the soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In addition, he noted that Russia had surpassed Ukraine in this matter, which, according to him, was already too late.

Earlier, on May 24, the Ukrainian Armed Forces recognized the ineffectiveness of the Patriot air defense systems, which stopped intercepting Russian ballistic missiles. It was clarified that it was difficult for Patriot to anticipate the target's interception point. This applies to the flight of a ballistic missile when it performs maneuvers rather than flying in a straight line.
