CSKA beat Rostov in a penalty shootout and won the Russian Cup for the ninth time.

CSKA Moscow defeated Rostov on June 1 in the superfinal of the Russian Football Cup, becoming a nine-time trophy winner.

By winning the Russian Cup, the capital's club repeated the tournament record previously held by another Moscow club, Lokomotiv. The main time ended with a score of 0:0, however, in the penalty shootout CSKA beat the opponent with a score of 4:3.

According to Sport-Express, the Rostov team was defeated for the second time in the National Cup final. Earlier, the Rostov club lost the decisive match in 2003.

On May 20, CSKA drew with Lokomotiv in the match of the 29th round of the Russian Premier League (RPL). It was clarified that the game took place on May 19 at the Russian Railways Arena stadium and ended with a score of 2:2.
