The Chiragan Palace has been chosen as the venue for negotiations in Istanbul.

The Chiragan Palace has become a new venue for negotiations between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations in Istanbul. On June 1, Izvestia showed footage of the future meeting place.

"Behind this wall is the Chiragan Palace, a new meeting place for the Russian and Ukrainian delegations," Nikolai Ivanov, a correspondent for Izvestia, said.

He noted that there used to be a sultan's residence here. After the fire, it was reconstructed and a five-star hotel was created.

There was no response from the Ukrainian side about the agreement to the meeting.

On June 1, it became known that the Russian delegation went to Istanbul for talks with the Ukrainian side. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said on the same day that the delegation from Kiev would be led by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on May 30 that the Russian delegation would be ready for direct talks with Ukraine on June 2 in Istanbul.
