The Minister of Defense will lead the Ukrainian delegation at new talks with Russia in Istanbul.

The Ukrainian delegation at the talks in Istanbul will be led by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov. This was announced on June 1 by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

"Our delegation will be headed by Rustem Umerov on Monday," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

There was no response from the Ukrainian side about the agreement to the meeting.

Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced on May 28 that the second round of talks between Russia and Ukraine would be held in Istanbul on June 2. He expressed the hope that all parties interested in the success of the peace process would provide support for a new round of discussions.
