Mayor Sergei Sobyanin congratulated Muscovites on the International Children's Day celebrated on June 1. According to the mayor, the Russian capital is a "city of happy childhood," and children are "our strength and our future."

The megalopolis authorities are trying to take care of the children and "do everything necessary so that every day brings joy, confidence and new opportunities," the mayor wrote in his Telegram channel.

According to Sobyanin, Moscow is developing a system that "has everything from modern medicine and high-quality education to clubs, sports clubs, scientific and creative programs."

"Teenagers have the opportunity to build a future career path thanks to a unique career guidance program. Families have support at every stage of the child's growing up," the mayor reminded.

He wished the young Muscovites health, inspiration and "energy for new discoveries."

In April, Sobyanin announced that on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, the Moscow authorities would organize military sports camps for children. The project, unique for the capital's education system, starts on June 1.

The camps will be named after prominent marshals of the Soviet Union: Zhukov will operate on the territory of the Alabino training ground, Rokossovsky in Patriot Park, Vasilevsky in the Noginsk Rescue Center of the Russian Emergencies Ministry.

"Over the summer, more than 4.5 thousand children from grades 7-10 will attend specialized shifts — winners of city, national and international competitions and competitions of sports, tourism and military-patriotic orientation," Sobyanin said.
