In France, two people died due to riots by football fans


At least two people were killed and another 559 were detained in France as a result of clashes related to the celebration of the victory of the Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) team in the Champions League. This was reported by the newspaper Le Figaro on June 1.
"By 10 a.m., the number of arrests had already reached a record high of 559, including 491 in Paris," the publication notes.
It is specified that a 17-year-old boy died in the city of Daks as a result of a knife wound. The second victim was a 20-year-old scooter driver who was hit by a fan's car in Paris. It is reported that a total of 192 people were injured in France, not counting 22 police officers and seven firefighters.
In addition, fires, accidents, and looting of shops were recorded. According to the newspaper, 264 cars burned down overnight.
A day earlier, it was reported that in France, in the city of Grenoble, a man in a BMW drove into a crowd of football fans celebrating the victory of the French PSG team. As a result of the collision, four people were injured, the driver tried to escape, but later surrendered to the police.
