Ushakov pointed out the need for careful preparation of the meeting between Putin and Trump.

There are no specific agreements on the meeting between Russian leader Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump yet, it must be carefully prepared. This was announced by Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov to journalist Pavel Zarubin on June 1.

"No, there are no specific agreements on this yet. The idea is in the air, that's understandable. But [the meeting will be possible] when there are some results that could be discussed at the presidential level. There should be thorough preparations for this meeting," Ushakov said, the video was posted on the journalist's Telegram channel.

The presidential aide added that the telephone conversations between Putin and Trump had yielded results. According to him, agreements were reached during the conversation, which are already being implemented.

He stressed that a lot of work must be done before the meeting of the leaders of Russia and the United States, which will allow achieving serious results in the negotiations.

On May 28, Trump announced that work was currently underway on a meeting with Putin. In his opinion, "no one will be able" to predict the development of events until the signing of the document with the agreements.

Putin and Trump had a two-hour telephone conversation on May 19. During the conversation, the presidents of Russia and the United States discussed, among other things, the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. The Russian president called the conversation informative, frank and useful.
