Throughout the night, Russian President Vladimir Putin received reports from the FSB and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation on train accidents in the Kursk and Bryansk regions. This was announced on June 1 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

"Russian President Vladimir Putin actually received reports through the FSB and the Ministry of Emergency Situations on what happened to railway trains in the Kursk and Bryansk regions throughout the night," he told reporters.

Earlier in the day, Russian Transport Minister Roman Starovoit held a meeting at the department's situation center. He said that emergencies with trains in the Bryansk and Kursk regions are under the control of the Ministry.

The collapse of a bridge in the Bryansk region with cars on it on the Klimov – Moscow passenger train happened on the evening of May 31. The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation confirmed that the collapse occurred as a result of an explosion. According to the latest data, the death toll is seven people. More than 70 people were injured.
