Starovoit held a meeting on train emergencies in Bryansk and Kursk regions


On June 1, Russian Transport Minister Roman Starovoit held a meeting at the department's situation center, during which he stated that train emergencies in the Bryansk and Kursk regions were under control.
"Last night, two bridge spans collapsed in the Bryansk and Kursk regions as a result of illegal actions. An operational headquarters has been formed on the basis of Russian Railways — Deputy Minister Alexey Shilo reported on his work," the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Transport says.
According to the agency, 16 technical teams are working at the scene of the incident in the Bryansk region, and 11 buses have also been sent to evacuate passengers to temporary accommodation facilities. The injured are provided with food and water, they are accompanied by medical teams.
In addition, work is underway in the Kursk region to eliminate the consequences, involving two recovery trains. For the duration of the work, suburban trains run to Mikhailovsky Rudnik station, and then a bus service is organized to Arbuzovo. The movement of long-distance trains is not difficult.
The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation expressed its condolences to the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
The official representative of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia, Svetlana Petrenko, announced on the same day that the investigation of the bridge bombings had been transferred to the Main Investigation Department.
The collapse of a bridge in the Bryansk region with cars on it on the Klimov – Moscow passenger train happened on the evening of May 31. According to the latest information, the death toll is seven people. The train driver and his assistant were killed. As a result of the bridge collapse, 47 people were hospitalized, including three children.
Also in the Kursk region, a bridge collapsed on June 1 during the movement of a freight train. Some of the wagons fell onto the highway under the bridge. The team members were taken to a medical facility and are under medical supervision.
