The Transport Prosecutor's Office took control of the case of a train crash in the Kursk region

The Moscow Interregional Transport Prosecutor's Office took control of the restoration work after the freight train crash in the Kursk region. This was announced on June 1 in the press service of the department.

According to preliminary information, on the night of June 1, a railway bridge collapsed on the Ostapovo — Mikhailovsky mine section, as a result of which the freight train derailed.

"Kursk transport prosecutor Yulia Smotrova is working at the scene of the incident," the department's Telegram channel reported.

The circumstances and causes of the incident are being clarified, as well as verification of compliance with transport safety requirements.

Tragedy in the Bryansk region: a road bridge collapsed on a passenger train

As a result of the incident, seven people died and dozens were injured.

The day before, a bridge with cars on it collapsed on the Klimov – Moscow passenger train in the Bryansk region. As a result of the train accident, seven people died. According to the press service of the Moscow Railway (MZhD), the collapse occurred due to "illegal interference in the activities of transport."
