- Trump has withdrawn the candidacy of billionaire Isaacman for the post of head of NASA

US President Donald Trump on Sunday, June 1, announced that he was withdrawing the candidacy of billionaire Jared Isaacman for the post of head of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
"I withdraw the candidacy of Jared Isaacman for the post of head of NASA," Trump wrote on the Truth Social network.
This happened just a few days before Isaacman was scheduled to be confirmed by a vote in the U.S. Senate. In April of this year, entrepreneur and commercial astronaut Isaacman passed the Senate Commerce Committee's background check required for his candidacy.
The American president also announced that he would announce a new candidate "in the near future." Trump did not name the reason for the withdrawal.
Earlier, on May 31, the media reported on the likelihood that the White House would withdraw the candidacy of American billionaire Jared Isaacman for the post of head. Conservative activist Laura Loomer suggested that Isaacman's nomination is under threat because of the candidate's friendship with entrepreneur and billionaire Elon Musk.
