On the International Children's Day, soldiers of the Center group of Forces delivered humanitarian aid to a family center in Luhansk. This was announced on June 1 by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

"On the International Children's Day, the front—line creative brigade of the song and Dance ensemble and the military personnel of the Center group of forces, together with representatives of the LPR administration, visited the children's family center in Lugansk," the statement said.

It is specified that the servicemen brought toys to the children, and also provided assistance in setting up their daily lives — they installed a new water heater, helped hang curtains, and mowed the grass in the surrounding area.

"Special attention was paid to communication with children. The military personnel conducted a small training session for the center's students on the sports campus, shared kind words and gave the children a lot of positive emotions," the department said.

The visit of the fighters of the group "Center" became a real holiday for children. The educators and staff of the organization also expressed their gratitude.

"Many thanks to them! We are always glad to see you at our family center," said Valentina Verbina, a social teacher at the Lugansk Family Children's Center.

Earlier, on May 27, Galina, the only current resident of the city of Maryinka in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), received humanitarian aid. Galina's house was badly damaged due to the fighting. The damage includes a collapsed foundation and a broken roof. The humanitarian aid for the woman was delivered by Izvestia correspondent Yevgeny Bykovsky together with a colleague from the Donetsk News Agency.
