The United States sent Iran its first official proposal for a nuclear deal at a time when the increase in uranium reserves was announced at a UN meeting. This was reported by The New York Times on May 31.

"The United States presented its first official proposal to Tehran on the elements of the nuclear deal on Saturday, just hours after UN inspectors reported a significant increase in the reserves of uranium close to bomb—grade over the past three months," the report said.

According to the newspaper, the document calls for an end to uranium enrichment and proposes the creation of a temporary association of Iran, Saudi Arabia and the United States for the production of nuclear energy.

Earlier, on May 30, Trump noted the imminent conclusion of an agreement on a nuclear deal with Iran. The US president added that Tehran cannot have nuclear weapons.
