Three people died due to the collapse of a bridge in the Bryansk region.

In the Bryansk region, three people were killed as a result of the collapse of bridge structures on a passenger train, and 28 more will be taken to hospitals. This was announced on Sunday, June 1, by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia with reference to the All-Russian Center for Disaster Medicine (VCMC).

"31 people were injured, three of them died, 28 were sent to medical institutions," the agency said in a Telegram post.

It is specified that the affected wagons and the locomotive are being examined by rescuers. About 180 specialists and 60 pieces of equipment are working to eliminate the consequences.

The collapse of the bridge with cars on it onto the Klimov – Moscow passenger train occurred on the evening of May 31. The governor of the region, Alexander Bogomaz, reported that there were casualties.

According to the press service of the Moscow Railway (MZhD), the collapse occurred due to "illegal interference in the activities of transport." The Moscow Transport Prosecutor's Office has begun an inspection.
