Due to the growing capabilities of artificial intelligence (AI), up to 20% of employees may lose their jobs. This was reported on May 30 by the Axios portal, citing a statement by Dario Amodea, CEO of the AI company Anthropic.

"Artificial intelligence can destroy half of all entry—level jobs for white-collar workers and lead to an increase in unemployment to 10-20% over the next 1-5 years," he said in an interview from his office in San Francisco.

At the same time, it is noted that many other economists expect a "less extreme impact" on unemployment due to the massive introduction of AI into the work of enterprises and firms.

"They point to previous waves of digital change, such as the advent of personal computers (PCs) and the Internet, which came with predictions of job market devastation that did not materialize," the publication says.

Earlier, on April 27, American entrepreneur Elon Musk, commenting on the novelty of introducing electrodes into human brain tissue, noted that at this rate robots will be able to replace surgeons within five years. According to Musk, surgical robots are able to perform difficult, highly concentrated work faster and better than humans.
