There is a possibility that the White House will withdraw the candidacy of American billionaire Jared Isaacman for the post of head of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). This was announced on May 31 by the Semafor portal.

"The White House is likely to withdraw the nomination of Jared Isaacman as the next NASA administrator just a few days before he was due to receive a vote in the Senate," the statement said.

In April of this year, entrepreneur and commercial astronaut Isaacman passed the Senate Commerce Committee's review necessary to nominate his candidacy for the post of head of NASA. The leader of the American Republican Party in the Senate, John Thune, proposed holding a vote on the entrepreneur's candidacy.

According to the portal, conservative activist Laura Loomer suggested that Isaacman's nomination is under threat because of the candidate's friendship with entrepreneur and billionaire Elon Musk, who is resigning as adviser to US President Donald Trump.

Earlier, on April 25, NASA lost its headquarters. According to Bloomberg, citing the US National Aeronautics Administration, the organization will abandon the building in Washington.
