FC Akhmat beat Ural and retained its place in the RPL


On May 31, Akhmat football club beat Ural Yekaterinburg with a score of 2:0 in the return play-off match. The match took place in the city of Grozny.
"Georgy Melkadze opened the scoring in the 51st minute from the penalty spot, Daniil Zorin increased the advantage of the Grozny team in the 90+2 minute," Sport-Express reported.
By the sum of two matches, Akhmat defeated Ural (3-2) and retained its place in the Russian championship for the next season, remaining in the elite division. Ural will continue to play in the second division of the country.
Earlier, on the same day, in Nizhny Novgorod, the Sochi football club defeated Pari Nizhny Novgorod and returned to the Russian Premier League (RPL) a year after the relegation. The match ended with a score of 3:1.
