20 athletes were killed in a car crash in Nigeria.

In Nigeria, a bus carrying athletes fell off a bridge, killing at least 20 athletes. This was reported by the Punch newspaper on May 31.

"At least 20 athletes <...> died in a car accident on the Dakatsalle Bridge in the Kura Local Government Area of Kano State," the publication says.

It is specified that there were 30 athletes on the bus who were returning from the National Sports Festival. The victims received injuries of varying severity, they were taken to medical institutions.

The relationship with the victim was recognized as a mitigating circumstance.

Earlier, on May 29, 25 people were injured in a collision between a bus and a truck in the Czech Republic in the city of Ust nad Labem. It was reported that the truck driver fled the scene, but law enforcement officers were able to quickly track him down and detain him.
