FC Sochi defeated Paris NN and returned to the RPL a year after the relegation


The Sochi football Club defeated Pari Nizhny Novgorod on May 31 and returned to the Russian Premier League (RPL) a year after the relegation.
The match took place in Nizhny Novgorod and ended with a score of 3:1. Kirill Zaika and Martin Kramarich scored goals for Sochi, while Juan Boselli scored for the losing team, Sport-Express reports.
Thus, Sochi became the second club since 2010, which managed to return to the RPL, taking fifth place in the First League.
FC Ural defeated Akhmat Grozny on May 28 in the first play-off match for the right to play in the RPL. The game took place in Yekaterinburg and ended with a score of 2:1. Ural striker Martin Sekulich scored twice, while Akhmat scored the only goal from Georgy Melkadze with a direct free kick.
